Eat Before You Sip? ☕️

Coffee has phytic acid that blocks the absorption of nutrients, such as zinc, iron, magnesium and calcium, by binding to them so they can’t be taken up into the bloodstream. This is why it’s important to eat your breakfast and take your vitamins before you have your morning cup of coffee. ☕️

Phytic acid also inhibits essential digestive enzymes, like amylase (starch), trypsin and pepsin (protein)!

Bonus tip: By not drinking ☕️ right away, it’s actually more energizing than drinking it first thing in the morning because your cortisol is already high from waking up AND you’re absorbing all the nutrients you consumed from your breakfast for lasting energy.
